Dr. Sim Hoffman has enjoyed a lengthy and successful career in the field of diagnostic radiology. A practicing Diagnostic Radiologist for more than 30 years. Dr. Hoffman has direct experience with many common and special radiological procedures in use today, including ultrasound, general X-ray, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, arthrograms, and myelograms.
An experienced radiologist, Dr. Sim Hoffman is also well-versed in interventional radiology; a subspecialty often involving the expert use of small instruments to avoid the need for more costly exploratory surgeries, as well as to diagnose and sometimes even treating disease more effectively.
The following types of procedures are considered interventional:
Angioplasty
This procedure is used to open up narrowed or blocked blood vessels through the use of a small balloon, which is inflated within the vessel itself.
Angiography
This is a diagnostic procedure designed to gather images of blood vessels in such areas of the body as the kidneys, brain, heart and so on.
Endovenous Laser Treatment
An outpatient procedure, Endovenous Laser Treatment, or EVLT, involves the use of a very thin catheter inserted into the vein, which then emits a laser energy that targets and seals the vein closed.
Dr. Sim Hoffman currently operates and oversees three diagnostic radiology offices in Southern California.
